Winston International has created a new product-line of EMERGENCY HOUSING to offer immediate assistance to disaster victims. This housing has been developed ready to transport within days to areas where families can immediately find shelter in comfortable living units. These units will be available to support victims of flood, seismic, tornado and other disaster events.
Two types of EMERGENCY HOUSING have been developed in addition to the regular lines of affordable-housing, luxury housing, offices, and multi-unit apartment structures.
14 foot by 36 foot HOUSING UNITS have been designed to temporarily house families of up to eight persons. They are fully equipped with kitchen, baths, living/dining space, closets and built-in sleeping facilities.
A 14 foot by 36 foot LAUNDRY and EQUIPMENT STORAGE unit will accompany every 10 Housing Units. Incorporated within the Equipment Unit will be an administrative "command center" equipped with e-mail and land line access. Temporary wooden walkways will be supplied with other amenities as required. Individual heating, electrical, water and septic systems will be installed using detachable connections for hook-up to public systems. Optionally, the Housing Units will come equipped with individual fresh water, grey water, and waste water tanks as required.
Up to 40 completed units can be stored at each Winston plant, ready to be delivered at shopr notice. The entire nation-wide fleet will be available for diverse locations at any time.
The EMERGENCY HOUSING program is funded by the WINSTON FOUNDATION, and the units will be delivered at no cost to the requested disaster sites. Notification will be required from participating U.S. States and/or communities, who will notify and supply pilot and guide cars to/from the emergency zones.
