Excerpt from the Conclusions and Recommendations (Section 6.0, page 13 of the Analytical Engineering Associates, Inc. Report):
"The Winston International LandLocked Floating House, Plan No. 1231, has been analyzed using a computer model program. The theory behind the the WLFH concept has been discussed together with the details of the house design itself. The computer analysis used load conditions which comply with FEMA standards for wind, flood-flow, and impact loading.
The computer model analysis results show that the WLFH complies with FEMA standards for wind, flood-flow, and impact loading, and exceeds the FEMA mitigating factor for height of the first floor above the 100 year flood level.....
It is the opinion of AEA, from considering all the data generated in the course of this study, that the Winston Landlocked Floating House conecept is technically sound. The WLFH met design expectations while exceeding FEMA and code requirements."
